Silicon Valley is a hub of discovery and innovation, and there is an opportunity to ensure more young people have access to its strong job opportunities.
Braven has a long history in the region; our very first college partnership was with San José State University (SJSU) in 2014. And, in 2024, we launched our second partnership with San Francisco State University.
We’re proud to partner with SJSU and SF State to empower students to find a clear path to a strong first job, economic mobility, and the career of their dreams.
San José State University became Braven’s founding college partner in 2014. A group of associate deans and faculty at the university were eager to do even more to expand opportunity on their campus, particularly for students from low-income backgrounds, students of color, students who had transferred, and first-generation college students. Since then, we have partnered with the university to offer the Braven experience to 1,961 undergraduates. SJSU offers Braven’s Career Accelerator course as a 3-unit, credit-bearing course that meets once weekly in a hybrid modality.
San Francisco State University (SF State) and Braven launched our partnership in Fall 2024. SF State takes pride in providing its students with a clear path to strong jobs or entry into graduate school. Together, we share the same vision and look forward to working in deep partnership to help students achieve upward mobility. In our inaugural year, 2024-25, Braven served 600 students. SF State offers the Accelerator as a 3-credit bearing course that meets once weekly in a hybrid modality. SF State is Braven’s second partner in the Bay and our second in the California State University (CSU) System.
