Fellows SERVED
of 2022 BravenX graduates employed or in graduate school
Fellows reported obtaining an internship after participating in the Accelerator course
As a nation, we promise students that a college degree is their path to financial freedom. But each year, about one in three of these students graduate with a strong first job or path to graduate school. That’s nearly one million students each year who are missing out on the opportunities they’ve been dreaming of.
Braven is proud to work with college success organizations to ensure that the American Dream is a reality for our students. We know that we aren’t the only nonprofit that partners with higher education institutions to help students meet their full potential. We also know that there are many students who could benefit from Braven that don’t attend our current higher education partners. Through BravenX, we can both join forces with like-minded nonprofits and reach a broader range of young people.

BravenX is a 14-week virtual fellowship through which college students gain the skills, confidence, networks, and experiences they need to launch a strong career.
BravenX is the virtual version of the Accelerator Course we offer through our higher education partners. Instead of joining through their college or university, BravenX Fellows join us through a college success organization or nonprofit partner. The workload is equivalent to a rigorous college course. In lieu of college credit for the course, they receive a stipend.
BravenX Fellows meet weekly for 2-hour sessions with a small virtual cohort. Just like our Fellows on college campuses, they engage in activities that prepare them to thrive in the workplace.

KIPP Public Schools’ vision is to ensure every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their community. There are 280 KIPP Public Schools in the country, and Braven is proud to partner with the KIPP Foundation to support the graduates of those schools as they go on to college and prepare for their careers.
Since 2021, we’ve worked with the KIPP Foundation to provide access to BravenX for more than 60 KIPP Alumni, no matter the college they attend.

The Chicago Scholars program is a seven-year program that begins in the summer before Scholars’ senior year of high school and continues through their first job after college graduation. Chicago Scholars are all driven, academically ambitious students from Chicago’s high schools who are poised to be the region’s next leaders. These students are the first in their family to go to college and/or they come from families with limited resources.
The Chicago Scholars program supports Scholars in their college application process. Then, once Scholars head to college, the program supports their success and persistence on campus through graduation day and beyond. They continue to coach Scholars through their first job or when they enroll in graduate school.
Since 2019, more than 130 Chicago Scholars have participated in BravenX, receiving intensive supports and an additional strong community as they move from college to their careers.
